This last few weeks we have been receiving reports from our customers that they have spotted Red Kites soaring in the skies above Highfields Retreat. Until now, a Red Kite has never been seen at Highfields, although we have known they have been getting closer to us every year.

Whilst we frequently see Buzzards, Owls and Kestrels patrolling the skies, being able to regularly see Red Kites would be simply amazing. Well, we can confirm that we have them! Either one or two Kites can now be seen almost daily above the park and our woodlands and we believe these are birds looking for their own territory, so hopefully we will see them take up residence and stay with us.
