We’re delighted to announce that our residents can now enjoy even more miles of private woodland walks!

New for 2013, Highfields Retreat has secured access to ‘Spanby Wood’ which is over 70 acres in size. This is in addition to the 30 acres of Woodlands we already enjoy.

Please visit our Woodlands Page for a map/plan of this new woodland which shows the route of the walks that can be explored and the location of the 2 lakes, where a variety of water fowl can be observed in their natural habitat.

The entrance to this new woodland is via a new bridge in the top (Spanby) meadow, as pictured here above.

Many thanks to Ron Bridle, Lodge Owner at Highfields Retreat, who has already been exploring and managed to photograph a Goosander on one of the lakes in this new woodland – the first one we have ever seen at Highfields.
